Falcons Fall to Pope John 9-7 in Nine Innings

On a chilly afternoon, put its 5-1 baseball record on the line against Pope John.

Steve Cuccio broke a 2-2 tie with a three-run shot over the center field fence to put the Falcons in the lead 5-2.

After a Pope John grand slam in the fifth put the Lions ahead 6-5, Jefferson answered with two to put themselves ahead 7-6.

Pope John came back to tie the game in the seventh, sending it into extra innings. They scored two runs in the top of the ninth that the Falcons couldn’t answer.

The Falcons go to 5-2 with the loss, while Pope John remains undefeated at 3-0.
