The Ollos thanked the rescue workers who were on hand to help Amelia, noting that had it not been for their help, the outcome of the accident may have been very different.
βShort of delivering flowers and candy to each rescue worker personally, which would have been tough, we werenβt sure what to do to show our appreciation,β said Mike Ollo, Ameliaβs father. βSo what weβve decided to do on behalf of the rescue squad is to donate a year of respite care at the Department for Persons With Disabilities.β
Scott Milliken, director of the DPD, along with John, a resident, was on hand to accept the Ollosβ offer of care.
Several members of the Jefferson Rescue Squad, including chief Kathy Jacoby, were also in attendance.
