Five Things You Need to Know About the Wrobo Run

It's coming this Sunday. Here's more information.

The is happening in Jefferson this Sunday, Oct. 2. It’s become somewhat of an institution in Jefferson. Here’s what you need to know about the race:

  1. Where and When: The race is this Sunday, Oct. 2, starting at the municipal building. Registration is from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m., and the race begins at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
  2. Who: It is sponsored by the Junior Woman’s Club of Jefferson Township.
  3. Why: The race is run each year in honor of J.T. Wrobolewski, who died in Iraq in April 2004. Each year the proceeds benefit a different cause, and this year’s cause is to construct a reading garden in honor of Robin Carlson, a teacher from White Rock School who passed away last year.
  4. How: You can register in advance at www.active.com or www.jeffersonjuniors.org and print out a registration form. Pre-registration is $25, and race day registration is $30.
  5. And More: Goody bags will be handed out while supplies last. Awards will be given in several categories and refreshments will be served after the race. Scoring is done by Compuscore.
