Get Out to Vote, International Dolls on Display at Library

Also, news of the Eye Institute North's charitable effort to help the hungry and a special screening of an Aerosmith concert.

Here's what you need to know for Tuesday.

  • Tuesday is Election Day! Voters will go to the polls to elect a governor, state legislators, county officials and school board members. There are also two important ballot questions that will be decided by citizens. People died for your right to vote, so do your duty as a citizen: Get informed and use your voice at the ballot box. What you need to know Tuesday's general election can be found here. Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. And be sure to keep an eye on Patch after the polls close for results.
  • The Jefferson Township Public Library wants you to Explore World Cultures through Dolls. See dolls from all across the globe at this cool free event, scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. The library is at 1031 Weldon Road.
  • Looking to rock it up for Election Night? The Sparta Theater presents a screening of the legendary Boston band Aerosmith's concert film event, "Aerosmith: Rock for the Rising Sun." The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. at 25 Centre St. in nearby Sparta. And by the time the film ends, election results should be rolling out. Tickets are $12.50.   • Jefferson's Eye Institute North is getting into the spirit of giving. All through November, the center hosts a Food Drive to help those experiencing tough financial times as temperatures drop and the holidays get closer. Bring your nonperishable food donations directly to the office on the the third floor of 5677 Berkshire Valley Road, where you will find drop boxes for the effort.
