The Jefferson Township Board of Education received the results of the audit for the 2010-2011 school year from John Mooney of Nisivoccia and Company at Monday night’s meeting and, according to Mooney, the news was all good.
With $1.2 million in revenue over expenditures for the year in question, “you are about as healthy as the state allows you to be,” Mooney said in his comments to the board. “The state only allows school districts to keep 2% over budget in revenue, and that’s exactly where you are.”
In addition, Mooney said that his company made no recommendations for changes to procedures for the next audit.

“This is a testament to how well Jefferson’s financial department runs from top to bottom,” Mooney said. “We like coming here, because we can get the information we need and get our work done.”
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank (business administrator) Dora (Zeno) and her staff for a job well done,” said board president Ron Smith. “If other administrators make a mistake, it is not brought out in such a public manner as an audit. You didn’t make any mistakes. Great job.”
