Lake Hopatcong Refilling Starting This Weekend

The 60 inches of water drained during the five-year draw down will be replaced.

LAKE HOPATCONG, NJ β€” Lake Hopatcong will begin refilling this weekend after its five-year drawdown.

The 60 inches of water that were drained from the lake will be replenished starting Saturday, Dec. 15. Residents might notice changes with overflow, officials said.

The drawdown started in September. Every five years, water levels in the lake are lowered to allow for cleanups and dock repairs.
