Kaylah Birmingham will make speech at eighth grade promotion ceremony.

Kaylah Birmingham would like to tell her classmates at congratulations.

β€œI’m glad we all made it through middle school,” she said.

Birmingham will have the opportunity to express that sentiment to her class, along with many others, as she gives the valedictory speech at the middle school’s promotion ceremony on Thursday night.

β€œMiddle school was so much fun because we got to start making friends with the kids from the opposite side of town from where we lived,” Birmingham said.

The class began making memories together, she said, adding that the eighth grade dinner dance and the school plays are among her favorites.

One thing that makes Birmingham nervous about high school is meeting all new friends yet again. She will be attending the Morris County School of Technology (MCST) in the fall as a member of the health care academy.

β€œI’m pretty nervous about it,” she said. β€œIt’s just starting to kick in, knowing that I’ll be in a different place from some of my friends.

Β β€œEven though I’m nervous, I’m ready to meet new friends and have new experiences,” she said.

Birmingham is looking forward to trying out for the soccer team in high school and getting involved with the drama club.
