Play Ball! Little League Celebrates Opening Day
A parade, some banner bashing and free food marked the event.
Under the warm Saturday morning sun, Jefferson Township’s 2012 Little League teams took the field in a parade to celebrate Opening Day.
Hundreds of boys from ages 5 – 13 gathered with their teams to parade around the turf at , each team sporting its own banner.
After each team had been announced, each group of coaches in turn took the team’s banner to midfield, where the boys proceeded to run and tear through the banner.

Jefferson Township Little League is headed up by president Jay Martorelli. Jill Small, Liz Hordyk, Kim Chenault an Tracey Daniel made up the parade committee. Matt Barone was the emcee of the event, introducing all the teams and providing color commentary while they ran through the banners.
The league provided free hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks for all attendees.
