Runners Hit the Road to Help Water Rescue Team

More than 300 runners participate in second annual Inferno 5K.

The runners came out almost 400 strong on Saturday morning for the second annual Inferno 5K run sponsored by

Proceeds from this year’s run went to the company’s water rescue team.

“We have to take a lot of classes to get certified for water rescue, and they are expensive,” said firefighter Travis Luecht, who is a member of the water rescue team. “We also need tools and life jackets.”

“We bought a new water rescue boat not too long ago, and we had to pay for that,” said company no. 2 chief Tom Jardine. “We’re hoping to recoup some of the money for that as well.”
