Saluting America in a Big Way

This flag was hung for all to see on Jefferson Day.

Today's picture shows a large American flag that hung on the outside of the middle school building. This picture was taken on Jefferson Day, July 9. According to Jefferson Township fire marshall Vinny Corsaro, it was the first time a flag of that size was hung on the outside of the building.

Welcome to “A Picture and a Paragraph.” It’s exactly what it sounds like, really. We’ll post a picture, and write a short paragraph about it. Maybe it will be a photo of an event that already happened, or something that didn’t make a past photo gallery. Maybe it will be something that we see that catches our eye. In any event, it will be something fun for you to look at.

We’d like to invite you to submit your pictures for “A Picture and a Paragraph” as well. You can send the photo to editor Sue Toth, susan.toth@patch.com. You can write your own paragraph, or just give us a quick description and we’ll write the paragraph. It’s up to you. Have fun choosing your photos! (But remember, Patch is a family-friendly publication!)
