School's Out, Last Chance for Radio City Tickets

Your daily planner for Jefferson Township includes a library event from a galaxy far, far away.

Here's what you need to know for Thursday.

  • Remember, parents and guardians: The New Jersey Education Association Teachers' Convention gets underway Thursday, which means public schools will be closed Thursday and Friday. Those in need of holiday child care, it is being made available at the Stanlick School. While we are alerting parents, if your student is a college-bound high school senior, be aware that Friday is  the last day to register for the Dec. 7 SAT
  • Last chance to travel with the Jefferson Township Recreation Department on Friday to see the Radio City “Christmas Spectacular” featuring the Rockettes, with time to sightsee and eat before the 5 PM performance.  Tickets are $74 per person and include reserved orchestra seating, popcorn/ drink voucher redeemable at the Hall concession, transportation by deluxe motor coach, and driver gratuity.  In-person payments and telephone credit card reservations will be immediately confirmed at the Jefferson Township Recreation Department office located at 81 Weldon Road in Lake Hopatcong at Camp Jefferson through 4 p.m. Thursday. Contact the Recreation Department at 973-663-8404 with any questions.
  • Darth Vader Returns to Jefferson Township Library. Just in time for the teachers' convention, the library offers a free arts and crafts event for kids that features a Star Wars theme. The fun includes story time and a visit from a Sith Lord. You have to admit that sounds pretty cool. The Star Wars storytime runs Thursday from 2-4 p.m. The library is at 1031 Weldon Road.
