Under Five Set Has a Place to Call Its Own

Welcome to Monkeydoodles!

Many adults know what it’s like to have to wait to be a certain age to do somethingβ€”drive a car, vote, drink alcohol legally. Now in Jefferson, there is a place for kids to go that not only do they not have to be old enough for, but if they are over five years of age, they are too old!

Monkeydoodles on Rt. 15 had its grand opening on Saturday. The indoor playground caters to the youngest citizens with toys and apparatus for climbing in, crawling on and just having fun.

The owners, Franscesa Piotrowsky and Amy Sahagian, who met in a moms’ group, both left careers in the pharmaceutical industry after having children and came up with this idea to cater to the needs of small kids.

β€œThere was nothing like this around,” Piotrowsky said. β€œThere are other indoor playgrounds, but they cater to bigger kids, and then the little ones end up getting hurt.”

Monkeydoodles offers classes, open play and play dates and birthday parties.
