Valley National Bank Sponsors Event to Raise Awareness of Identity Theft

Valley National Bank in Jefferson Township is offering an Identity Theft Awareness Event on Saturday.

The community is coming together for the event, which will present helpful information designed to protect area residents from the dangers of identity thieves. Among the offerings, USA SHRED, a co-sponsor of the event, will provide an on-site truck to shred personal and confidential documents at no cost. Valley Bank staffers will share effective measures to reduce the risk of fraud and identity theft. The Jefferson Township Rescue Squad will also be there, to offer free blood pressure screenings from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.  

Residents are encouraged to bring documents such as old bank statements, checks, income tax returns, credit card statements for shredding.
