Fire Damages Pizzeria, Displaces Residents In Jersey City Thursday
Three people and a dog were displaced by a fire that damaged a pizzeria in Jersey City, a spokesperson said.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A fire in Jersey City on Thursday morning damaged a pizzeria and displaced several residents, a city spokesperson said.
Firefighters responded shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday to 308 Pacific Ave., said city spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.

The two story building, including a pizzeria and cigar store and three apartments, was suffering "heavy fire from the pizzeria and up to the apartments," Wallace-Scalcione says.
Tommy's Brooklyn Pizza is located at that address.

Wallace-Scalcione said that the roof began collapsing as firefighters fought the blaze.
The Red Cross is assisting with relocation of two adults, a child, and a dog who escaped, she said. No injuries were reported.
The building is located in the city's Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, within walking distance of Liberty State Park.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated, she said.
