Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle Near Hudson/Bergen County Border: Police

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle near the Hudson County/Bergen County border early Monday morning, police said.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A male pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle near the Hudson County/Bergen border early Monday morning, police said Monday.

A 54-year-old man was hit at the corner of 91st Street and Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen, blocks from the Fairview border, just before 6 a.m., said a spokeswoman for the North Bergen Police Department.

The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, polie said.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the North Bergen Police Department at 201-392-2000.
