Murder Charge For Man In Connection With Fatal Hudson County Shooting

A man has been charged with murder after a victim was found dead with a gunshot wound in a Hudson County home.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A man was charged with murder on on Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found dead in a North Bergen home last month.

Henry Delgado, 34, of North Bergen has been charged with murder, disturbing or desecrating human remains, hindering, and three weapons charges, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday.

The victim, Juan Moyet, 48, of North Bergen was found dead on Dec. 9 of last year inside a second-floor home at 9028 Palisade Plaza.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office initially determined that Moyet had suffered an apparent head injury. But on Dec. 11, a post-mortem exam determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and the manner to be homicide, prosecutors said.

Delgado was arrested at a Union City residence and taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility to await a court appearance, prosecutors said.

Prosecutor Esther Suarez credited the arrest to the Homicide Unit, with assistance by the Gang Task Force, Hudson County Regional SWAT, the Union City Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service, her office said.
