This year, the NJCU Foundation expects to award $901,000 in scholarships to 285 students, and the #NJCUGivingTuesday campaign is the largest crowdfunding campaign that contributes to these outcomes. All proceeds benefit the NJCU Fund, which supports all areas of the University and enriches the experience for its students, but most prominently students’ immediate and greatest needs.
#NJCUGivingTuesday impacts the core of the institution’s mission, which educates a population that no other four-year public institution in the state of New Jersey serves. The median household annual income of NJCU’s students is $42,000 — the lowest of New Jersey’s four-year public colleges by a considerable margin. In fact, the next closest peer institutions to NJCU in this metric are Kean University and William Paterson University at $76,300 and $84,600, respectively.
Individuals wishing to contribute to NJCU may still do so with a gift at https://secure.givelively.org/donate/new-jersey-city-university-foundation-inc/njcugivingtuesday2022.
