Hudson County Man Sexually Assaulted Girl He Met On Snapchat: Prosecutor
A North Bergen man showed up to meet a Bergen County girl for sex and instead was met by detectives, prosecutors said.
NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Police chased and apprehended a man for sexually assaulting a Bergen County girl whom he met on Snapchat, prosecutors said this week.
Guy R. McCann II, 29, of North Bergen was charged Tuesday with sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
Last Friday, the River Vale Police Department contacted the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an alleged incident of sexual assault that had occurred the day before, prosecutors said.

Investigators determined that a stranger had contacted a child under the age of 16 on Snapchat and talked to her. Then he arranged to meet her in River Vale on Thursday, Jan. 16.
That day, when he met her, he sexually assaulted her, prosecutors said.

When he planned a second meeting this past Tuesday, detectives were ready.
"As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that the stranger continued to contact the child and planned another meeting in order to engage in sexual activity," prosecutors said.
This past Tuesday, prosecutors say, McCann again headed to River Vale to meet the child.
Instead, he was apprehended by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and River Vale Police Department after a brief foot pursuit, prosecutors said.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
