2 Family Members Shot In Car, 1 Dead 1 Hospitalized In Jersey City

A teen girl died after being shot in Jersey City on Saturday and a female relative is hospitalized, said prosecutors.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 15-year-old girl was shot to death and a relative was also shot in Jersey City on Saturday night, prosecutors said.

Cianna Lee, 15, of Jersey City was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Prosecutors said that around 11 p.m. Saturday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Union Street in Jersey City.

Police found both a girl and a woman with gunshot wounds received inside a vehicle, prosecutors said.

The older woman, who's a relative of Lee, was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and is in stable condition, prosecutors said.

Lee's death is the second fatal shooting in Jersey City so far this year.
