JERSEY CITY, NJ — A woman suffered a head injury after being struck by a car in Jersey City Heights Wednesday afternoon, police documents show.

A Bayonne man attempted to make a left turn onto Ferry Street from Central Avenue around 4:14 p.m. when he struck a Jersey City woman, according to the accident report.

The 65-year-old woman, who lives in the Heights, suffered a large laceration to her head, the document states. She was taken by ambulance to Jersey City Medical Center.

Police said that at the hospital, the woman could not recollect details of the accident.

Public safety spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said the woman's injuries were non-life threatening.

"It appears no criminality is suspected at this time," she said.
