Additional Traffic Enforcement In Store For Lacey Road, Police Say

Police say you'll see them conducting traffic safety patrols on Lacey Road more frequently for the foreseeable future.

LACEY, NJ — Trying to speed on Lacey Road? You might not get away with it this time, as Lacey police say they'll have a stronger presence there "for the foreseeable future."

"In consideration of the on-going road construction work scheduled to take place on Lacey Road, and to promote the overall safety of our roadways, the Lacey Township Police Department will be conducting increased traffic safety enforcement patrols on the Lacey Road corridor for the foreseeable future," police said in a recent public safety announcement.

Enforcement efforts will focus on speeding, school zone/school bus safety, aggressive driving, distracted driving, pedestrian safety and work-zone safety violations, police said.

"We would like to remind those using our roadways of the importance of avoiding these dangerous driving behaviors, and ask for the public’s assistance by choosing to operate vehicles safely and within the confines of our traffic laws," police said.

Police also reminded drivers that in work zones, they must operate at a safe speed below the posted speed limit.

"Our goal has always been and continues to be for drivers to voluntarily comply with our traffic laws and operate their vehicles safely, eliminating the need for any enforcement actions by our officers," police said. "Please help us in keeping our roads safe by choosing to drive safely!"
