Benefit Planned For Ailing Lacey High School Graduate

Lacey Kids For A Cure will donate proceeds from their fundraiser on Saturday to Joseph's gofundme account

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Many in town are pulling for Joseph Serrano, a 2018 Lacey High School graduate who is recovering from recent arduous surgery for a brain tumor.

And that includes the kids involved in Lacey Kids For A Cure, who will be selling lemonade from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 30 in the parking lot at Lacey Township High School. The group made up of children ages 5-18 who want to give back to society and make a difference in the world.

All of the funds raised will go to the gofundme site set up for Serrano several days ago. So look for the group's trademark lemonade stand and yellow balloons in the parking lot.

The teen was admitted to the hospital just a few days before his graduation and was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a golf ball. A gofundme site entitled "Love for Joseph" has been established to help his parents, Dave and Lauren Serrano, to help with medical and other bills.

Joe had been suffering from constant headaches and nausea for most of his senior year, but it wasn't until he started to experience double vision that he went to the doctor, the gofundme site states.

The surgery on Monday was supposed to take eight hours. It lasted 13 hours and Joe had to be taken back into surgery after he hemorrhaged. He spent a total of 18 hours in surgery.

It's going to be pretty hot on Saturday, so go buy some lemonade and help Joseph.
