Can You Help Bonnie And Clyde At Popcorn Park?

The owner of the little dogs, who are both 18, lost their owner recently and no one in the family was able to take them

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Bonnie and Clyde spent most of their lives together, living in a good home.

But sadly, the little dog's owner died recently and the family could not take care of them, so they came to live at Popcorn Park's Animal Haven Farm.

"We all know what it's like to lose someone close to us," the post states on the Popcorn Park Facebook page. "We cry, we mourn, we grieve, then eventually, we learn to get on with our lives. We are equipped to handle loss, though it's never easy, but for a pet who doesn't understand what is going on, imagine how difficult that must be?"

Shelter workers have set them up in their own suite, so the bonded pair can stay together.

"The two are just the sweetest little pair that absolutely melt when you give them attention," the post states. "They are staying in our suite during the day and going home with a staff member at night, so Clyde can get his insulin when needed."

Shelter workers quickly discovered that Clyde is diabetic, blind and underweight. He is now on insulin and feeling much better. Bonnie is healthy, but is a little overweight and has a collapsing trachea.

"We cannot stress enough the importance of leaving instructions for the care of your pets should you outlive them," the post states. "Leaving a bequest in your will for their care along with your wishes for your pets is something that all of us should consider."

Popcorn Park has Kitty City and Animal Haven Farm, retirement homes for cats and dogs. For more information on these programs, please click here: https://www.ahscares.org/services.asp?service=RETIREMENT+HOME+FOR+PETS

Bonnie and Clyde will stay at Popcorn Park until Clyde's insulin is regulated. Then they will be looking for a new home.
