​Driver Strikes Utility Pole, Flees Scene: Lacey Police

Witnesses told Lacey Police that the driver fled on foot after striking the utility pole.​

LACEY, NJ — A driver fled the scene after striking a utility pole Saturday in Lacey near the intersection of Route 9 and Nautilus Boulevard, Lacey Police said.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. on Dec. 12, Lacey Police announced Thursday. The impact caused heavy damage to the utility pole, which has been replaced since the crash.

Witnesses told Lacey Police that the driver fled on foot after striking the pole. After a search of the area, authorities said they could not identify the driver.

Officer Watkins found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle consistent with heroin use.

The crash remains under investigation.
