Drunken Lacey Man Charged With Multiple Counts Of Assaulting Police Officers, Chief says

Kurt Maniaci, 24, was carrying a bat and a bottle of alcohol, chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP - A drunken Lanoka Harbor man was recently charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault on police officers, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officers Christopher Meyler, Jesse Dalziel and Adam Ewart responded to the area of Lake Barnegat Drive North and Steuben Avenue at 10:56 p.m. on Sept. 22 on a report of an intoxicated male subject carrying a bat and a bottle of alcohol, the chief said.

Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Kurt Maniaci, 24, Lake Barnegat Drive North, Lanoka Harbor, on multiple counts of aggravated assault against police officers, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest, DiBella said.

Maniaci was taken to police headquarters and processed, then lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River pending a bail hearing, the chief said.
