Electronics Missing From Forked River Home, Police Chief Says
Home had been vacant since early January.

Lacey Township police are investigating an apparent break-in at a vacant hom in the 1800 block of Deerhead Lake Drive, Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Officer Christopher Meyler responded to the home at 8:25 p.m. on Feb. 25 on Feb. 25 on a burglary report, the chief said.
Investigation at the scene revealed that the homeowner had been in Florida for the past several months and a friend of his was staying in the house until the beginning of January this year.

The owner had asked a neighbor to check on the residence and she discovered that the rear door was open, the front door was kicked in, and a bedroom window was smashed out, the chief said.
The neighbor told police that when she previously checked on the home, there were several laptops and electronics in plain sight and that they were missing, DiBella said.

The actual amount of damage to the residence and stolen property is unknown at this time. The matter is under investigation by the detective bureau, he said.
