Fireworks Wrappers Apparent Cause Of Lacey Brush Fire: Chief
Fire destroyed about a quarter of an acre.

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - A brush fire that destroyed a quarter of an acre on Lake Road in the Bamber Lakes section of the township recently has been ruled accidental, due to the large amount of fireworks wrappers in found in the area, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Officer Anthony Sarno responded to area at 6:28 p.m. on Sunday, July 8 on a report of a brush fire. He contacted the state Forestry Services. The Bamber Lake and Whiting fire departments extinguished the blaze after it had burned roughly .25 acres, the chief said.
Numerous fireworks wrappers were found on the site, he said.
