Forked River Man Charged With Using Stolen Credit Card

Lanoka Harbor man indicted on drug charge

A Forked River man used stolen credit cards to buy goods at area stores, according to an indictment handed up last week.

William J. Hoefsloot Jr., 34, of Parkside Drive is accused of , one of which he used at stores in Toms River and Brick.

Hoefsloot allegedly broke into a 2000 GMC Yukon on July 6 and stole a First Financial credit card as well as a JC Penny credit card. That same day, Hoefsloot used the First Financial card to buy products at Walmart in Toms River as well as Best Buy in Brick.

Hoefsloot is charged with burglary, two counts of credit card theft and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. He was initially jailed on $50,000 bail but posted July 14.

In June, Hoefsloot was accused of on March 13 in Lacey and using one of her credit cards at the Walmart in Lacey to buy the television and a Sony Playstation 3 game system.

Two days later, in Berkeley, Hoefsloot is accused of stealing another woman’s credit card and using it at the K-Mart in Toms River to buy a camera worth more than $500. On March 16, in Lacey, Hoefsloot is accused of having heroin.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Alexander J. Palamara of Lanoka Harbor on a drug charge.

Palamara, 25, was arrested Aug. 30 after Lacey police said he had oxycodone while in the township. He was released on a summons.
