Fulfill Needs Volunteers To Deliver Meals In Forked River
Fulfill partnered with local hospitals to deliver meals to Forked River residents in need.
LACEY, NJ — Fulfill is seeking volunteer drivers to deliver meals to Forked River residents in need. The nonprofit organization recently partnered with local hospitals to bring meals to cancer patients, new mothers and hospital staff who have been laid off or furloughed during the pandemic.
“It’s a brand new project we’re doing. We’re helping feed people who are down and out right now because of Covid,” said Alexa Palmieri, a Community Engagement Specialist at Fulfill.
Palmieri said Fulfill aims to organize a staff of volunteer drivers who can commit to delivering meals to Forked River residents on a consistent day each week. Palmieri said the delivery route includes three houses in the Forked River area, as of Dec. 2.

Meals are available for pick-up from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fulfill's facility in Neptune located at 3300 Route 66. Fulfill plans to make meals available for pick-up at their Toms River location soon.
On arrival to the Neptune facility, volunteer drivers will receive a case of meals with a list of names, addresses and the number of meals to be distributed at each house. Palmieri said residents will know what time the meals are scheduled to arrive, so they can be left on doorsteps for contactless delivery.
