LACEY, NJ — George Michael Scivoletti, known by Michael or his affectionate nickname "Scivi," was born April 15, 1952. He died Jan. 25 at age 69.

He was the oldest of his fellow siblings — Bruce Scivoletti, Michele Andrews, and Tracey Vega — and grew up in a traditional Italian family surrounded by cousins and grandparents.

Michael grew up in Toms River, NJ, and immediately set himself apart as an incredibly talented musician. He was able to listen to a song and learn to play it back on his guitar without ever needing to read the music. Throughout his life, he played in many bands at local venues and was adored by his audiences. He carried rhythm and melody with him every day of his life, bringing joy to all with his remarkable talent.

Through his love of music, he also met his wife, Alice, to whom he was married 43 years. They lived in Forked River, NJ. Here, Michael built a 25-year career in public works as a machine operator.

Michael’s hobbies not only included playing music, but also collecting and rebuilding guitars. He also enjoyed being outside and planting in his garden. While he never had children of his own, he was an adoring uncle to seven nieces and nephews: Brucie, Heather, Rebecca, Alexis, Shelby, Angel, and Angela — all of whom grew up with an integral appreciation of classic rock. He never lost his childlike spirit, always watching cartoons, playing games, and doing whatever he could for a laugh. Michael brought undeniable happiness to this world.
