Handgun Stolen From Lanoka Harbor Garage, Police Chief Says

Theft occurred on Clairmore Avenue.

Lacey police are investigating the theft of a 9mm handgun from a garage on the 100 block of Clairmore Avenue recently, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Frederick Anderson responded to the home on a theft report at 8:17 a.m. on Aug. 6. The homeowner told police that sometime between 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 6, someone entered his unlocked detached garage and stole the gun he was preparing to clean, the chief said.

The weapon was left unattended during that time in the unsecured garage. The gun is valued at $300, DiBella said.

Lacey Police Detective Alan Abrecht and an Ocean County Sheriff’s K-9 Officer responded to the scene to investigate.
