'Kindhearted & Selfless' Lacey Mom 'Is My Best Friend,' Daughter Says

LACEY, NJ— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom is the most beautiful, kindhearted and selfless person I know. She was diagnosed with cancer before my sister and I were born which left her on permanent disability and therefore a stay-at-home mom, and she never let her disability stop her from excelling in her role as a mother, to not only her children but to any child that came through her door. Everyone that entered our home growing up called her “momma” and knew that the door was always open with a fresh cup of coffee if you needed someone to talk to or even a place to stay. My mother is special because her love for not only her family but for everyone around her is unconditional and unwavering, even through the toughest of storms. She has been through so much in her life and yet still has so much love and light that she gives to the world, and she is my best friend.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserves the spotlight because she’s an incredible mother to not just her own children, but to every person that comes into her home, no matter the age. Whether you needed some clothes altered or a homecooked meal, my mom was always there with open arms and a willingness to help however she could.
