Lacey Bookstore Celebrates Dr. Seuss

The party was kicked off by Mayor Mark Dykoff who read “The Cat in the Hat,” which was followed by a game of “Pin the Hat on the Cat.”

“He did a great job and the children loved it,” bookstore owner Cindi Arteglier said.

Four other Dr. Seuss books were read and each reading was followed by a craft. For example, for the book “I’ve a Wocket in my Pocket,” the kids made paper pockets, sewed them with yarn and decorated them with stickers and crayons.

The party included birthday cake and the group sang “Happy Birthday” to Dr. Seuss.
