Lacey's Zoey Smith is one of 22 high school girls selected for the U16 team to compete against international players.

LACEY, NJ — A young lacrosse star from Lacey was selected to represent the country against international competition this fall.
Zoey Smith, a student at the Marine Academy of Technological and Environmental Sciences (MATES), is one of 22 young women named to USA Lacrosse's U16 team after a competition at USA Lacrosse headquarters that featured nearly 150 players.
Some of the other players on the U16 team are already committed to playing Division 1 lacrosse in college due to birthday cutoffs, Smith's mother told Patch.
