Lacey Officers, Firefighters Receive 'Team Of Valor' Award For Rescuing Woman From Forked River Fire

The National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia will post photos of the officers and the event in the museum

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - The elderly woman was trapped in an attached garage when the fire ripped through a Lacey ranch home in the 1800 block of Serpentine Drive in November 2016.

But thanks to the efforts of two Lacey police officers and two Forked River firefighters, she was saved.

The fire was already heavily involved when they arrived on the scene. Police officers Anthony Sarno and Christopher Meyler and firefighters Robert Anderson and Edward Barker, Jr. managed to rescue the 81-year-old woman by breaking a window and pulling her to safety shortly after midnight.

"All four of these men will have their photographs, along with a description of the life-saving event, posted in a section of the museum," the chief said.
