Lacey Police Charge Flemington Man As A 'Suspicious Person'
Panhandler claimed to be homeless, Police Chief Says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police recently arrested a Flemington man who was apparently panhandling patrons at JT's Bagel Hut for money and telling them he was homeless, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Officer John McKee responded to JT’s at 918 Lacey Road in Forked River at 11:39 a.m. on Jan. 13 on a report of a suspicious person who was asking people for money and telling them he was homeless, the chief said.
McKee searched the area and located the subject on Gary Smith Way in Forked River. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Jason L. Rumfield, 38, Flemington on two outstanding warrants. One was a no-bail warrant out of the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department and the other a no-bail warrant from the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Department, DiBella said.
