Lacey Police Charge Forked River Man With Drunk Driving After His Car Hits Tree

Lacey police recently arrested a Forked River man and charged him driving under the influence, after his car hit a stop sign and then struck a tree, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officers Jason Lee and Julie Barcalow responded to the intersection of Deerhead Lake Drive and Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River at 1:24 a.m. on Oct. 9 on a report of a one-car accident, the chief said.

The caller reported that the vehicle struck a stop sign and drove into a tree. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of Joseph L. Gonzalez, 31, of Llewellyn Parkway in Forked River, for DUI, DiBella said.

Gonzalez was charged with DUI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.

His vehicle was impounded pursuant to John's law, the chief said.
