Lacey Police Charge Township Man With Eluding
Eluding incident began on Lacey Road and continued on Garden State Parkway, police chief says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police recently arrested a township man for eluding after he gunned his car after a motor vehicle stop on Lacey Road and sped onto the Garden State Parkway, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.
Officer Scott Keefe tried to stop the vehicle near Lacey Road at 1:46 a.m. on July 15. But Eric L. Collins, 50, Ocean Street, Forked River, refused to stop. Keefe pursued him onto the Parkway but could not get him to pull over. Keefe stopped the pursuit because of public safety concerns, the chief said.
Keefe conducted an extensive investigation into the incident and arrested Collins on July 18 for eluding on a warrant. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River to await a bail hearing, DiBella said.
