Lacey Police Charge Two With Possession Of Heroin In Kohls Parking Lot

Police responded to a report of drug activity in the parking lot, the chief said.

Lacey police recently arrested a Waretown man and a Barnegat woman and charged them with heroin possession after they responded to a report of drug activity in the Kohls parking lot on Route 9 North, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer Jesse Dalziel responded to Kohls at 6:33 p.m. on July 23, where an individual said he had observed drug activity in the parking lot. Investigation at the scene led to the arrests of Zachary S. Bednarek, 32, Michigan Avenue, Waretown and Courtney R. Fitterer, 30, Deer Run Drive North, Barnegat for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, the chief said.

Bednarek was charged on a criminal warrant with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Ocean County Correctional Facility to await a bail hearing. Fitterer was released after receiving a criminal summons for possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe, along with a traffic summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, DiBella said.
