Lacey Police Department's 'Red Night Out' Coming Up On March 10.

Event will feature a number of presentations and activities


The Lacey Township Police Department's Task Force is inviting residents to a "Red Night Out" at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria on March 10 as part of an informational meeting about the many programs they offer.

The event includes includes dinner at 6 p.m. for those who register by March 8 and child care for anyone who registers by March 8, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Information on the department's 2017 Junior Police Academy, and the Police Explorer program will also be provided. Ocean County Sheriff''s officers will be on hand with child identification services.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department will also conduct a K-9 demonstration and a drone demonstration. Kids Night Out will include face painting, a DJ and a magician.

A number of speakers - including DiBella, Sgt. Robert Flynn, Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Anthony Pierro and Steve Willis from Hope Sheds Light - will discuss drug and alcohol problems and how they affect Lacey Township.

"Substance abuse representatives and resource information will be available on site," DiBella said. "Residents of Lacey Township are encouraged to attend this event and become a part of the effort to diminish the problem of drug addiction, which has afflicted too many in our community."
