Lacey Police Investigating Hit And Run Accident On Cypress Street

White van found at scene, driver fled, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella says

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Lacey police are looking for the driver of a white van who struck a telephone pole in front of a residence in the 1200 block of Cypress Street and fled the scene, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officers Anthony Sarno, Julie Barcalow, and Scott Keefe responded to the address at 6:38 p.m. on Jan. 24 on a report of a motor vehicle crash. They located the van in front of the residence. The driver was not the registered owner of the van, the chief said.

The driver fled the scene on foot and has not yet been identified, DiBella said.

Crews from Jersey Central Power and Light responded to repair the pole. The accident remains under investigation.
