Lacey Police Investigating Theft Of Wallet Stolen From Car

Incident occurred either at Gille Park or Retro Fitness on Nov. 11, police chief says.

Lacey police are trying to determine just exactly where a man's wallet was stolen - either at Gille Park or at Retro Fitness on Route 9 South recently, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

Officer John McKee responded to police headquarters at 8:04 p.m. on Nov. 11 on a theft report. The victim told police that between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., that someone entered his black 2013 Hyundai and stole his wallet, the chief said.

The victim reported that the theft either occurred while his vehicle was parked in Gille Park, located at 56 Manchester Avenue in Forked River, or while he was at Retro Fitness, located at 410 Route 9 South in Forked River, DiBella said.

The wallet contained credit cards, health cards, a New Jersey driver’s license, and a law enforcement ID. The victim realized the theft when he was alerted of an unauthorized purchase at Delta Gas, located at 602 Route 9 North in Lanoka Harbor. The value of the stolen property is estimated at $50, the chief said.
