Lacey Skate Park Open For Business This Friday Night, Police Chief Says

More nights are scheduled in October and November

LACEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Summer is just about over, but skate park nights at Lacey's Gille Park will run into early November, Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said.

The next skate park evening event starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 and will run until 10 p.m. The skate park is only for the use of skateboards, scooters, and in-line skates. Bicycles are not permitted. All users must wear a helmet in the skate park at all times, and follow the posted skate park rules. Bottled water will be permitted in the park. In addition, Tom and Dee's Italian Ice will be on location.

Lighting for the event is provided by the police department, along with the Forked River and Lanoka Harbor fire departments.The Lacey Township EMS and Lanoka Harbor EMS and a DJ will also be on hand.

The Lacey Municipal Police Foundation and the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance have partnered together to bring a mobile gaming trailer to the event. The mobile gaming trailer will be provided by "Party Crashers" and will be at the skate park from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Age appropriate games will be available for the kids, the chief said.

The "Party Crashers" mobile gaming trailer participated in last year's Lacey Day Event, and has participated in numerous events throughout Ocean County.

Additional skate park nights are also scheduled for Oct. 6, Oct. 20, and Nov. 3, 2017.

The events are coordinated by the Lacey Township Recreation Department, the Lacey Township Police Department, the Lacey Township Municipal Alliance, and the Lacey Municipal Police Foundation.
