Lacey Township Democrats Looking For Candidates
Lacey Democrats are seeking candidates who can help gain the majority on the Township Committee

Lacey Democrats are seeking candidates willing to run in increasingly competitive races for Township Committee seats.
Two of the three Republicans on the five-member Township Committee will stand for re-election this year. If Democrats win at least one of those seats, they will gain majority control of the Township Committee
In 2010, Democrats Sean Sharkey and Helen Dela Cruz upset long-time incumbents John Parker and Brian Reid. And in the 2011 election, Democrat Gary Vaccaro narrowly lost to Republican incumbent David Most.

With higher turnout expected in 2012, Lacey Democrats think they have their best-ever chance to attain a majority on the committee.
“After a recent series of mistakes, lack of oversight, and fiscal irresponsibility, Lacey residents realize that a change is needed. The 2012 elections will be centered at the local level. Voters realize that the most important race this year is for the Township Committee seats," says Democratic Municipal Chairman Nick Toth.
