Letter: Vote for Vaccaro, Continue Forward Progress
Candidate will stand up for Lacey citizens

To the Editor:
Lacey’s minority committeepersons Sean Sharkey and Helen Dela Cruz must be complimented for standing up for the citizens of Lacey, despite criticism by the current Republican majority on the committee.
After Mr. Sharkey and Ms. Dela Cruz opposed this year’s Republican proposal for cutting back hours for township workers, the Republican majority found money to avoid such furloughs. While Sean and Helen were voting against furloughs in this year’s proposed budget, Dave Most was adamant about implementing them.Â

One union already won a lawsuit against the town for the 2010 furloughs, resulting in the Township having to pay more than $139,000; it turns out that Helen and Sean’s opposition may have saved the town from more lawsuits this year.
Having done this much as a minority, imagine what they can do if Mr. Vaccaro wins this year’s election and they become the majority on the committee.

It’s time to give a new majority a shot and for us to elect more forward-thinking, proactive candidates who know how to get things done.
That’s why I’m voting for Gary Vaccaro on Nov. 8.
