Lindsey Dechert of Big League Barbers will be participating in a March of Dimes walk in April

Big League Barbers will be offering discounted haircuts on Sunday, March 25 for a cut-a-thon. Proceeds will benefit March of dimes, an organization that raises funds for research and treatments for premature babies.
“My son (Sean) was born 10 weeks premature, “ Lindsey Dechert of Big League Barbers said. Dechert credits March of Dimes for her son’s survival.
Sean is soon approaching his first birthday. When he was born, he weighed three pounds, was bleeding in his lungs and was hooked up to many machines.

The walk, which is along the Asbury Park boardwalk, consists of five miles. At the end, there’s a park across the street where entertainment will be provided.

“Everyone’s pitching in,” she said. “The girls are working free that day.”
The event will also feature giveaways, gift certificates for restaurants and a bake sale.
Old cell phones will also be collected, she said. One cell phone is equivalent to a $2 donation to March of Dimes.
Anyone who goes to Big League Barbers that day will get an MVP card, which will qualify customers for a $3, $2 and $1 discount for the next three cuts.
