Buy them a sponsorship for a pet in the Zoo's "Share-A-Pet" program, which will ensure that animals like Sammie - with medical conditions or other problems - will get the proper care and love they deserve and can stay at the shelter for the rest of their lives.

"Our Share-A-Pet program was designed for animals of all species and breeds, that live with us for various reasons," according to the organization's Facebook page. "Some are available for adoption, but many of them live their lives in comfort, peace and tranquility in our Animal Haven Farm for dogs, or Kitty City for cats."

Sammie has been at the shelter for more than 7 years. He has a neurological disorder and other medical conditions. But he is a one happy dog at Popcorn Park.

"They live with us where they have all of their medical needs tended to, have large, comfortable living quarters, outdoor areas all to themselves, staff members dedicated to caring for just them, and sponsors that come in and spend time with them," the post states.
