Oyster Creek Offline Due To Unplanned Shutdown

Problem is with a turbine on the non-nuclear side of the plant, Exelon says.

The Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station is offline again after it automatically shut down at 3:42 a.m. Sunday morning due to a fault in the turbine control system, Exelon Corporation said.

The turbine is located on the non-nuclear side of the plant. The system monitors turbine conditions, including speed.

Technicians will work to repair the system and test it before the plant is returned to service, company officials said.
