Police: Lacey Man Found Passed Out in Running Vehicle

A Forked River male was arrested after police allegedly found him passed out at the wheel, police said.

Police responded to the Hometown Market at 7:30 pm. on Aug. 29 on a report of a male passed out at the wheel of a running vehicle.

Justin Helstowski, 24, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving and a criminal complaint for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Sept. 2
Officers responded to Walmart where Stacey Fischer, 41, of Bayville was detained on the suspicion of shoplifting $51.93 worth of merchandise. Upon officers’ arrival, she was arrested and charged with shoplifting. She was processed and released. 

Sept. 2
Police responded to Caldwell Avenue in Forked River where a resident reported that someone stole a Dell computer from within the home. The computer was valued at $1,200. There was no sign of forced entry. 

Sept. 4
A resident of Taurus Court reported that a bag of diving equipment valued at $400 was stolen from the driveway. 

Sept. 1
Police responded to a home on Elwood Street where a vehicle parked in the street sustained a large dent. Damage was approximated at $2,500.

Aug. 31
Cheryl Neal, 27, of Bayville was being detained by Walmart security at 10 p.m. when police arrived.

Neal allegedly secured merchandise within a shopping cart and paid for some items and not others. She allegedly shoplifted $32.43 worth of merchandise. Neil was arrested, processed, charged and released. 

Aug. 31
Police responded to a home on Independence Drive where a resident reported that a wedding band valued at $2,500 was stolen. There was no sign of forced entry. 

Aug. 29
A resident of Enterprise Drive in Forked River reported that someone stole $50 in cash and a makeup purse valued at $20 from within the home. Entry was forced. 

Aug. 29
A business on Lacey Road reported that two aluminum down spouts for a gutter was stolen from the commercial building. The down spouts were valued at $20 a piece. The dumpster and metal were also removed.
