Police: Lacey Man in Custody Found With Hypodermic Syringe
Others charged with shoplifting, DWI and more

A Forked River man who was arrested on two outstanding warrants was allegedly found in possession of a hypodermic syringe after police conducted a motor vehicle stop.
Michael Foley, 43, of Forked River was arrested after an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop on a car without state plates on Jan. 29.
The officer discovered that the passenger, Foley, had a $1,500 warrant from South River Municipal Court and an Ocean County Superior Court warrant for $25,000.

He was taken to the Ocean County jail and was unable to post bail. While in custody, Foley was found to be in possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was charged on a summons.
Foley has been arrested previously for an alleged theft and possession of heroin.

A $70 bread delivery was stolen from Fusciello’s Butcher and Deli on Route 9 in Forked River on June 27, 2011. Foley was charged with theft of bread on a summons. Foley was also found to have a $750 outstanding warrant issued by the South River Municipal Court.

A resident of Orlando Drive Forked River discovered that someone cut down a weeping willow tree from the front yard overnight. The tree was removed from the property and located at the adjacent street. The tree was valued at $300.

A Forked River resident reported that while attending Bingo at the Knights of Columbus, someone stole her purse. The purse contained a wallet, various personal identifications and credit cards.

Francisco Alicea, 47, of Bayville was stopped at 9 p.m. by an officer for speeding and tailgating. Alicea was charged with DWI, reckless driving, speeding, tailgating and driving with a suspended drivers license.

An officer reported on Maxim drive that someone entered their shed and stole a Stihl model BR380 leaf blower valued at $350.

Police made a motor vehicle stop at 12:30 a.m. for speeding. John Carter, 46, from Ewing, NJ was charged with DWI, reckless driving, speeding, failure to maintain lane, failure to observe traffic signal and possessing an expired drivers license.

Police responded to Walmart at 8:15 p.m. on a report of a male exiting the store without paying for three televisions. The TVs had a retail value of $634 and the suspect was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

A resident of Amherst Road in Forked River reported that more than $20K worth of assorted jewelry was stolen from within the home. There was no sign of forced entry.

A Forked River resident residing on Route 9 reported that their unlocked car was entered and a wallet containing personal identification and a Mio brand GPS valued at $100 was stolen.

Daniel Everitt, 23, of Bayville allegedly stole a computer valued at $428 from Walmart. Everitt received a summons for the charge because he was already incarcerated on charges from Toms River.

Walmart security detained Jacquelin Appell, 31, at 5:30 p.m. for allegedly stealing a heart rate monitor watch valued at $39 and a utility knife valued at $1.88. She was charged with shoplifting.

A business in the Lacey Township Industrial Park on Old Shore Road reported that three aluminum chutes used by a cement truck and stored outside were stolen. The chutes were 8-feet, 12-feet and 16 feet and valued at $1,200.

Police took report on Lawrence Drive, Lanoka Harbor where a chrome brush guard with two KC lights, also known as Bushwacker, was stolen. The brush guard was originally for sale on the front yard. It was valued at $450.

A resident of Sandpiper Drive reported that someone entered their home and stole a safe valued between $75 and $100. The safe contained $25,000 to $30K of assorted jewelry. There was no forced entry.
